EKU INFIELDER DANIEL HARRIS CHOSEN AS A PRESEASON ALL-AMERICAN

Eastern Kentucky University infielder Daniel Harris IV was chosen as a second team Pre-Season All-American by Collegiate Baseball, the publication recently announced.

Harris, a 5-foot-11, 178-pound junior, led the Ohio Valley Conference and was ninth in the nation with a.460 batting average last season.  He hit two home runs, had 16 RBIs and scored 16 runs, while posting a .680 slugging percentage and a .541 on-base percentage.  He also had five stolen bases. 

The Stone Mountain, Georgia native tied for first in the OVC in on-base percentage, was eighth in slugging and eighth in runs scored.  He ranked 25th in the NCAA in on-base percentage and 41st in hits per game (1.77). 

Last season, Harris was chosen by D1Baseball.com as the 25th-best second baseman in the country.  D1Baseball.com also picked Harris as the Breakout Hitter in the Ohio Valley Conference in 2020.

Harris led EKU with eight multi-hit games and ended the season with an eight-game hitting streak.

The 2021 season is scheduled to begin for the Colonels with a 3-game series at Georgia Tech Feb. 19-21.  Fans can request season ticket information at EKUSports.com.
