With the start of the 2020 season two weeks away, the Eastern Kentucky University football team held its third scrimmage on Saturday at Roy Kidd Stadium.

The Colonels are scheduled to face Marshall on Sept. 5 in Huntington, West Virginia.  EKU will play three home games as part of its 8-game fall schedule.  For season ticket information, call the EKUSports ticket office at 844-3-GOBIGE.

Redshirt junior Alonzo Booth keyed the first score for the offense when he broke loose up the middle for 25 yards down to the 10 yard line.  Two plays later, Booth scored from one yard out.  Redshirt sophomore Parker McKinney capped a scoring drive with a 25-yard touchdown pass.  McKinney scrambled from the pocket to his right and then connected with redshirt junior receiver Jacquez Jones in the end zone.

Newcomer Alexander Woznick, a transfer from the University of South Carolina, connected on a 50-yard field goal in the first half as well.

Early in the second half, the defense got a stop on fourth down at the goal line.

Offensively in the second half, quarterback Kaymen Cureton hooked up with freshman receiver Peyton McKinney for a 25-yard scoring play.  Mason Molique put a 35-yard kick through the uprights.  Late in the scrimmage, Cureton found freshman receiver Ethan Bednarczyk over the middle for six on a 3rd-and-8 play.  Woznick ended the scrimmage with a 52-yard field goal.
