The Eastern Kentucky University beach volleyball team and head coach Jeff Patton announced the addition of two new members, Shannon Stone and Bailey Rima, on Tuesday.

Stone is a 5-foot-10 transfer from the University of Central Arkansas. Stone posted a 10-4 record out of the number five position and 18-13 overall record. She was named First-Team All-Southland Conference last year.

Before her time at Central Arkansas, she attended Orange Coast College where she played volleyball, beach volleyball, and tennis. Stone was the only tri-sport athlete at the college and won the California Community College state championship as a freshman.

“I am very excited to add Shannon to our roster” Patton said. “Not only is Shannon a great player, but she will bring experience to our young team as we gear up for the ASUN.”

Rima is a 5-foot-9 defender/split blocker from Iowa. During the 2020-21 season, Rima posted six top-five finishes including one first place finish at the Northern Iowa BRQ. In her junior season, she posted four top- three finishes with a first-place finish at the Iowa Regional.

During high school Rima was a member of the track and indoor volleyball team and earned all-conference honors in softball.

“I am excited to add Bailey to our program” Patton added. “She is a dynamic and athletic player who will add more depth to our freshman class.”
