UofL MTEN Land Four Singles, Two Doubles in ITA National Rankings

The University of Louisville men’s tennis team placed four singles players among the top 75 and two doubles teams in the top 60 as announced by the International Tennis Association (ITA) on Nov. 16. Natan Rodrigues, Fabien Salle, Etienne Donnet and Matthew Fung represent the Cardinals in singles while Salle and Rodrigues along David Mizrahi and Will Mayew are among the top doubles teams in the nation. 
 
Natan Rodrigues is slotted in at No. 25 in singles, marking the sophomore’s first appearance in the national singles rankings and the first top 25 showing by a Cardinal since the 2014-15 season. Rodrigues rounded out the fall with an 11-3 record and was the singles runner-up at the Ohio Valley Regional championships.
 
Graduate senior Fabien Salle heads into the spring season at a career-best No. 36 in singles following an impressive fall campaign, registering a 12-4 record and claiming the ITA Ohio Valley Regional singles championship. He had previously been ranked as high as No. 52 in the 2022 ITA singles rankings.
 
Senior Etienne Donnet comes in at No. 42 in singles after finishing the fall season with a 7-3 record. His previous best ranking was No. 88 which came during the 2022 campaign.
 
Fellow senior Matthew Fung makes his first career appearance in the singles rankings at No. 61 after posting four wins in the fall. He has appeared in the doubles rankings in each of the past two seasons, reaching as high as No. 45 in 2021.
 
The pair of Rodrigues and Salle conclude the fall season at No. 9, jumping 39 spots after appearing at No. 48 in the preseason doubles rankings. This marks the first top-10 ranking for a Louisville doubles team since 2017. The pair posted a 16-4 record and claimed the ITA Ohio Valley Regional doubles championship. Salle was ranked as high as No. 29 in doubles in his time at Arizona State, while Rodrigues reached No. 71 last season. 
 
Graduate senior David Mizrahi and freshman Will Mayew both enter the rankings for the first time in their careers, standing at No. 56 in doubles. The tandem went 8-4 and were runners-up at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional, earning a spot in the ITA National Fall Championships.
