UofL FB Food Drive Scheduled for Saturday’s Game Against NC State

University of Louisville Football fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and hygiene products to the final home game Saturday versus NC State. As part of the Kroger Food Drive to benefit the Commonwealth Credit Union Cardinal Cupboard, collection bins will be placed outside of all entry gates. Additionally, volunteers will be collecting contributions at The Alley, Bud Light Street Fest, and the Kroger Ultimate Tailgate in the Planet Fitness Purple Lot. All those who donate will be entered to win Kroger gift cards.

The Commonwealth Credit Union Cardinal Cupboard opened January 30, 2019. Located in the Swain Student Activities Center, the center increases accessibility to food and health products for members of the Cardinals community to reduce their financial burden on local families. Collected items are available to all UofL students, faculty, and staff.

Saturday’s collection event marks the third in a series of similar drives recently co-hosted by the Cards and Kroger, having already collected items at both a fall baseball game and women’s basketball game. Another drive will be held prior to Louisville Men’s Basketball’s non-conference matchup with Western Kentucky at the KFC Yum! Center on Wednesday, December 14.

Louisville Football closes their home schedule Saturday with a 3:30 p.m. kickoff against NC State.
