The University of Louisville men’s golf team tied for sixth place at the ACC Men’s Golf Championships, which concluded stroke play on Sunday at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst, N.C. Jiri Zuska finished at 6-under-par, contributing to the team’s strong performance. Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Virginia, and Duke advanced to the match play portion of the tournament on Sunday.
Saturday’s round was postponed until Sunday due to inclement weather, but the Cardinals managed to tie with North Carolina, with both teams finishing at 2-over-par over the 54 holes of action. The Cardinals shot a 1-over-par 289 during the final round of play on Sunday. The team now awaits the announcement of its regional location when the NCAA reveals its selections on May 3.
Zuska had a chance for medalist honors but ultimately shot an even-par 72 on Sunday, after shooting 70-68 on Friday, placing him in second place overall. His performance earned him sixth place at the tournament, marking his fourth top-10 finish this season.
Max Kennedy achieved his seventh top-10 finish by tying for seventh place overall at 5-under-par. He shot 69-69-71=211, finishing just three shots off the lead. Sebastian Moss gave the Cardinals their third top-20 finish by tying for 19th place, carding a 1-over-par 217. Mads Roddick tied for 55th after shooting a 12-over-par 228, while Andrew Tan played one round and shot 77.
The University of Louisville men’s golf team will be looking forward to their regional location announcement on May 3 and preparing for the next stage of the competition.
