Murray State’s women’s golf team has reason to celebrate after Eliza Mae Kho, a senior from Miri, Malaysia, was named the Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Golf Player of the Week. This is the first time that the team has received this honor since joining the conference this year.

Kho’s impressive performance at the Atlantic Invitational at Indiana River CC in Boynton Beach, Florida, earned her the accolade. Not only did Kho card her career-low round twice, but she also finished in third place with an impressive score of 68-79-68=206.

The record-breaking event saw the Racers post a 283 in the final round, the lowest single round in total strokes in program history since its inception in 1993. The team’s 864 total tied the program record low score set by the 2019 team at the OVC Championship. The same team had previously held the single-round record of 284, which the Racers surpassed at the Atlantic Invitational.

This achievement is undoubtedly a significant milestone for the team, especially since they are competing in the Missouri Valley Conference for the first time this year. It is an exciting time for the Racers, and they are undoubtedly poised to continue making history in the future.

The team’s next challenge is the Long Beach Invitational at Mission Viejo Country Club in California, which is scheduled for February 27-28. Kho and the rest of the team will undoubtedly be eager to showcase their skills once again and make their mark in the conference.

In conclusion, Eliza Mae Kho’s recognition as the Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Golf Player of the Week is well-deserved, and it speaks to her exceptional performance and the team’s hard work and dedication. It is an exciting time for the Racers, and their future in the conference looks promising.
