⚾ Top 5 Preseason Ranking For Louisville Cards from Baseball America

0

The University of Louisville baseball program has been ranked fifth in Baseball America’s preseason poll, marking their highest preseason ranking of the spring to date. This comes as no surprise as the Cardinals have been performing well in recent years, earning their fifth ACC Atlantic Division title in seven full seasons as a member of the league.

This ranking by Baseball America follows similar recognition by Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game, who had the Cardinals ranked sixth and seventh respectively. The team is in good company, as they are one of seven ACC teams in Baseball America’s top 25 and one of three in the top 10.

The team is led by head coach Dan McDonnell, who enters his 17th season at UofL. McDonnell has a strong team to work with this year, with four position player starters returning and 11 pitchers that recorded at least 10 innings on the mound last spring. This level of experience and talent gives the Cardinals a strong foundation to build upon as they begin the 2023 season.

The Cardinals kick off their 2023 season on February 17th with a three-game series against Bucknell at Jim Patterson Stadium. With such a high ranking, expectations will be high for the Cardinals as they look to continue their winning ways and make a run for the national championship. Louisville baseball fans can be sure that the team will put on a great show and make them proud.
