The Thomas More University men’s basketball team fell in the latest NAIA Coaches’ Poll, dropping from their previous ranking to No. 22. The Saints have a record of 1-3 since the last poll, with their lone win coming against the University of the Cumberlands, 71-57, on Saturday afternoon.

The team faced a tough stretch of games, losing a pair of close contests in Tennessee to Cumberland University, 78-75, and University of Tennessee Southern, 80-74. They then fell to the newly ranked No. 10 Georgetown College Tigers 72-61 last Thursday.

However, the team was able to bounce back with their win over the Patriots. Sophomore Casey George recorded his second double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Redshirt junior Reid Jolly and redshirt sophomore Jacob Jones scored 21 points each.

The Saints will look to continue their winning ways as they take on the Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raiders tomorrow night in the Connor Convocation Center at 7:30 p.m. They previously beat the Blue Raiders 78-72 in Columbia on January 7th.

Despite the recent setbacks, the team will look to use this as motivation to push forward and strive for a higher ranking in the next poll. With solid performances from key players and a strong team effort, the Saints will look to make their way back up the ranks in the coming weeks.
