UK WBB Finalizes 2019-20 Schedule with Challenging SEC Slate

Big Blue Nation can finally put the 2019-20 Kentucky women’s basketball schedule in ink as the Southeastern Conference has released its 2020 slate of games with the Wildcats hosting eight quality matchups in Memorial Coliseum and traveling for eight tough road contests.

Kentucky, which finished fourth in the league last season with a 11-5 record, will play host to Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M while traveling to Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. All home games will be played in Memorial Coliseum and times will be set by TV assignments later this fall.

The challenging schedule begins with the Wildcats on the road at South Carolina on Jan. 2 with UK returning to Lexington on Sunday, Jan. 5 for its SEC home opener vs. Tennessee. Four of the Wildcats next six games will be played away from Memorial Coliseum starting with back-to-back road games at Alabama on Jan. 9 and at Florida on Jan. 12. After returning home to face Texas A&M on Jan. 16, the Wildcats head to LSU on Jan. 19 before its first of two bye dates. UK concludes January following the bye with Auburn at home on Jan. 27 and at Missouri on Jan. 30.

The calendar flips over in February as the Wildcats play five of seven games at home starting with back-to-back home games vs. Florida on Feb. 2 and Alabama on Feb. 6. After a road trip to Arkansas on Feb. 9, UK has its second bye date before facing two-time defending SEC Champion Mississippi State at home on Feb. 16. The Wildcats wrap February at Ole Miss on Feb. 20 before hosting South Carolina on Feb. 23 and Georgia on Feb. 27.

The conference slate ends on March 1 as the Wildcats travel to Nashville to face Vanderbilt. For the second straight season the SEC Tournament will be played at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C. The event will take play March 4-8 with the NCAA Tournament getting started March 20.

Non-Conference Home Game Times Set; Winthrop Game Moved to Rupp: Game times for nine of Kentucky’s non-conference home games, including its lone exhibition of the year, have been set. In addition, Kentucky will play non-conference foe Winthrop inside Rupp Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. ET. Complete game times are listed below.

Dec. 8 – Samford – 2 P.M.

Dec. 11 – Winthrop – RUPP ARENA – 7 P.M.

Dec. 15 – Louisville – RUPP ARENA – TBD

New season ticket purchases are available in upper-level reserved chairbacks (sections AA-JJ), lower-level reserved bench seating (sections R-Z) or general admission bench seating (sections RR-ZZ) for $69 per ticket. Lower-level reserved chairbacks (sections A-J) are sold out again this season.
