Belmont Dances After Winning OVC Title Game

Nashville TN– Belmont defeated Murray State 88-87 with a 3 point field goal with 3 seconds left from Taylor Barnette’s  to not only snap no. 25 Murray State’s 25 game win streak but the first to punch a ticket to the NCAA dance.

The upset was one of the best college basketball games of the year. Murray State and potential NBA player Cameron Payne were the OVC #1 seed, #25 in the nation and hadn’t lost since November.

Belmont led by Craig Bradshaw with 25 points and Barnette’s what wait a minute 3 pointer with 3 seconds left sealed the deal on a high scoring great offensive basketball game in which both coaches let the players show off their skills and it was literally a great free flowing game and from two mid majors.

Murray State was led by T.J. Sapp’s game high 28 points and Payne was smazing with 20 points, 10 assists, and 6 boards.

The game had that “March” feel and Belmont who is 0-6 in previous NCAA tourney bids punches the first ticket to the dance.

22-10 and 11-5 in the OVC Belmont is predicted to be a #14 seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament.
